Chuck's Alibi has redefined fine dining. No linen tablecloths here. You and your guest(s) seat themselves at a cold laminated table and wait for someone to take their order. After your server tends bar and takes a cigarette break, your order arrives. It is served on paper plates with plastic utensils. No fine china or silverware here either. It's just like the hamburger joint around the corner. And consider it a bonus if they get your order correct! It's usually take it as is. Lolita says an 18% gratuity is added to your check. Wow, unbelievable! Someone forgot that this is a corner bar, not the Four Seasons. Enjoy!
Lolita says his restaurant charges an 18% gratuity? For what? First, real restaurants use linen tablecloths, china and real silverware. This joint serves food on paper plates with plastic utensils on cold laminated tables.

Ive been to this place twice and both times my experience was the same. I don't like the fact that they charge an 18% gratuity on your order if its over $50, I can understand when dealing with a party of six or more, but not for one or two people. Since the gratuity is included once, and the bill has reached the limit of $50, the wait staff don't even care about you. Our waitress disappeared, she went to smoke, walked all over the restaurant, worked the bar, and had other conversations with other patrons all while we we sitting there, and needed water, seasoning for the food that, when we went the first time was so good and the reasoning for coming back, but it turned out to be horrible. We were told by the waitress that the establishment knows that there is a inconsistency with how the food is prepared. At night its a different cook than the day time time, so don't think you will enjoy the food in the day time because, each chef prepares the food differently, but they all are supposed to be on the same page, per the waitress. Also at night the drinks are made with a double shot whether you ask for it or not, and they don't you that until you get the bill and you see that its a double mix. Bottom line is, they don't make you want to come back, because of the inconsistency and the nonchalant attitude of the wait staff. Horrible experience, never again.
