I love their oxtails and rice and beans along with the cabbage. I could eat this meal 2 to 3 times a week. You really get your monies worth. 5 stars

Fireside is one of Pittsburgh's hidden jems. It a hole in the wall for sure, but they have the best carribbean food anywhere.

I PLACED AN ORDER OVER THE PHONE I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE READY IN A HALF HR, AFTER PLACING THE ORDER THE LADY READ THE ORDER BACK TO ME CORRECTLY. WHEN I GET THERE A HALF HOUR LATER THE ORDER WAS WRONG. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE CASHIER AND TOLD HER THE PROBLEM SHE GRABBED THE CONTAINER AND SAID "WELL THE PRICE IS DIFFERENT" I TOLD HER I UNDERSTAND WAITED ANOTHER 15 MIN. FOR THE FOOD. THE LADY WHO TOOK THE ORDER TOLD ME THE PRICE OVER THE PHONE SO I TOLD THE YOUNG LADY WHAT SHE SAID IT WOULD BE, SHE THEN OVERCHARGED ME,I BROUGHT IT TO HER ATTENTION SHE WAS VERY RUDE GIVING ME THE CHANGE BACK WITH ATTITUDE. I MADE A COMMENT ABOUT THAT THEN SHE STARTS SPEAKING IN HER LANGUAGE TO THE OTHER LADY AND LAUGHING. GET BACK TO THE OFFICE THE BROWN STEW SNAPPER WAS SO DRY THERE WAS NO JUICE, IT LOOKED LIKE THEY JUST TOOK THE CHICKEN OUT THE CONTAINER AND SLAPPED A PIECE OF FISH ON TOP OF THE BEANS AND RICE,WHICH I DID NOT ASK FOR. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME IN THIS PLACE AS LONG AS I LIVE. FOOD WAS DRY, VEGETABLES COMPLETELY OVER COOKED THEY JUST MASHED BY PICKING UP WITH FORK. IT WAS BY FAR THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I'VE ENCOUNTERED WITH JAMAICANS. NEVER AGAIN

In town from Miami, When I am in Pittsburgh and it's cold outside, I go to Fireside and the food is so good! Going again tomorrow for dinner! Amazing!

The food was delicious. I was given a large quantity for my money as well. Definitely worth the stop if you like or want to try Caribbean Cuisine!

I tried Jamaican food for the first time almost a year ago and I have been hooked ever since. It is absolutely delicious. The best Jamaican food out of the other Jamaican restaurants I have eaten at is by far, without a doubt "The Fireside" Jamaican restaurant in Wilkins burg on Penn Avenue. Every time I go there to eat, whether I dine in or take out, the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Thank You Fireside for your excellent food!
