02/22/2015 - Kristi
I called Harvest to set up a reservation for dinner after my wedding in the Camas Hotel. My reservation was for 18 people. The first two times calling I was unable to reach anyone and I left a message. The Chef Tim called me back and left a very long message. I returned his call and spoke to him in regards to my dinner reservation. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if all my wedding guests would be ordering dinner. He told me that he didn't want to reserve such a large section of his restaurant if they were just getting drinks and an appetizer. I told Tim that I did not require guests to buy full dinners and did not ask them what they would be ordering. He offered the bar space but we have minors. Tim and I discussed this back and forth. I of course felt disrespected and that it was inappropriate for him to not want to reserve a spot for us because I didn't know what guests would be ordering. He was only concerned about the money he will be making. Tim apologized to me and said it is my wedding night and he will reserve the space for 18 people and we could go in early at 4:45. I felt like we had resolved the problem and I was excited for the reservation. After my wedding, my husband went down to The Harvest to make sure the table was ready. He walked in and asked a younger host at the front desk about our reservation. No reservation was found for us. The young host was rude and not interested in trying to help. The manager was sent over and she made no efforts to accommodate us. No customer service. My husband left very disappointed and sought help from staff at The Camas Hotel. A stranger walking by overheard their conversation and made a comment about The Harvest LOSING a reservation on another occasion. The Camas Hotel staff was very apologetic and aware of The Harvest and their ongoing problem. We ended up going on a scavenger hunt for food in downtown Camas. We will not be giving The Harvest or any other restaurants owned by Tim our business. The staff at The Camas Hotel corresponded with The Harvest manager and Tim said that he was waiting for me to call him back about the menu. I am not sure why Tim would think I was calling him back. He told me the reservation was made. Was he hoping I would ask each wedding guest what they planned to order?? And I was fully aware of what was on the menu. I am hoping to talk to Tim and find out why this would happen.
