The Chinese food in North Portland is exceptional, featuring standout dishes like char siu pork, broccoli beef, and homemade potstickers. While the atmosphere has a dive bar vibe and my wife feels uncomfortable going alone, the quality of the food is impressive and made fresh to order without MSG. Despite the less appealing appearance of the restaurant, the attentive service from the bartender and the delicious flavors make it worth a visit.

Been going here since they opened. Food is good. Not gourmet and over priced. Most entree's are 12$ or so. Get a beer in the bar while you wait for your to-go food.

I have been going to Northside for about 3 years. I was surprised the food is really good and there is enough for two/three or if you have a really big appetite, one. The place looks a little shady on the outside with the poorly painted dragon on the window (smile). You will find the dinning area basically empty since most of the patrons order out or eat in the bar area. The food is very good. Chinese shrimp, Mongolian beef, house lo mien noodles full of vegetables are my favorite and my husband loves the General Tso's chicken, hot wings, hamburgers, mandarin beef, basically, the food is "really" good. There are daily happy hour appetizers which are "Free" with the purchase of a drink. Monday (Taco's) & Fridays (chicken) are out favorites.
Excellent food, great price, environment local people and frequent visitors.
