In 1972, Gregg's opened its first restaurant in Warwick, Rhode Island. A comfortable 130-seat, family-style restaurant with affordable prices, the menu was limited to mainly deli-style sandwiches, homestyle soups, chowder, a variety of salads, a bakery and a beer/wine menu. Over the years, the menu grew to include dinners and daily specials as well as late night breakfast items. A main attraction was the luscious desserts, prepared strictly from scratch and using only the highest quality ingredients. Seating was increased and a Take-out Shoppe was added so that customers could conveniently purchase all of items to go, including their fabulous desserts.

I am a big fan of Gregg's! In Rhode Island, they stand out among the local chains with their extensive menu and delicious food. The restaurant I visited was clean, spacious, and had lovely large windows. I particularly enjoyed their fish and chips with tater tots, where the tater tots stole the show with their perfect crunch and flavor. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Really good Mexican dishes. Burritos, quesadillas and nachos. The salsa is very spicy but good.

Well, First off my family and I have never been to Gregg's before. We heard such good things about this place so we had to check it out. The four of us were seated in a booth which was a good thing.
From what I had heard about this place, the menu was big and packed with mouth watering meals but, I really didn't see anything other than the normal, basic stuff listed. I really didn't know what to get as I flipped through the pages so, I just ordered a bacon cheese burger. My wife ordered a fried chicken meal and my two kids had mac n' cheese with fries.
We got our food about 25 minutes later, but it was busy so that's okay. My burger was a tad over cooked and the bacon was so small and thin, I barely tasted the bacon. The burger it self was a good size though. My wife's chicken looked very small in portion. It looked like they gave her huge portion of mash and veg to make it look like a big meal. She said the chicken was dry too.
Honestly, I don't know what was so special about the menu. It seemed like really basic food. Lots of sandwiches and not enough eye catching, mouth watering meals like I had expected. Other people may like this type of food but I was very disappointed with the quality of our meals.

Instead of going to another restaurant my brother suggested Gregg's, one of four like it in the state. He and my mother had been there before and liked it. Normal standard fare they said. On the internet, the reviews were mixed but more people liked it then not so we went. There were their famous sliced cucumbers were okay and the rolls were fine nothing to write home about. The area is spacious and it was not noisy at all. Appetizers chicken quesadilla was very good with guacamole, bits of tomatoes and sour cream side for sides. Crisp, enough chicken and the taste was quite good. Their orange sweet potato crinkle fries were excellent and fried just right. Chipotle like dipping sauce with it was excellent. The buffalo sauce was too vinegary. My main dish (and nephew's) was the Philly cheese-steak (a la RI) sandwich on a kaiser. It was very good with tasty grilled beef strips with some onions and little bits of cheese (some would more but I liked it with this little bit of cheese) . My mother's broiled (non breaded) scrod was excellent broiled just right. My sister-in-law liked her Chinese chicken salad. My brother liked his burger. The restaurant makes their own desserts. The chocolate cake with pudding like filling in it was chocolate and excellent. The waitress was very good, helpful in deciding on certain entrees etc and served us well and was gracious in all ways. She helped us (me mostly) decide on which items might be good to try. Reasonably priced, good tasting food, many items to choose from (the new menu), I would rate it as a good place to go for lunch or dinner .

I wrote a letter of complaint on April 4 with no response. I guess you're no longer concerned about customer satisfaction. I would gladly send you the leteer I sent to Ted Fuller if you so desire.

Huge menu! Diner style menu has huge range of burgers, sandwiches, bar food, and american comfort food. Get's pretty crowded, so be ready or wait, or make a reservation. But I usually find gregg's is a spontaneous choice for us, so we wait. Prices are good too.
