After hiking in Algonquin Provincial Park, my friend and I visited a restaurant in Bancroft that was suggested by our hosts and one of the few places open late in town. The restaurant, housed in a converted building, was bustling, but we managed to secure a table without a reservation. Despite the busy atmosphere, the food was worth the wait, with generous portions and tasteful presentation.

Thursday's special is Fish and it was absolutely excellent and a large portion as well. We ordered fries with gravy on the side and ginger ale, both were very nice. We sat out on the porch and the experience was lovely. If I recommended anything at all, I would recommend a small bread platter as soon as we sat down, that way we wouldn't have minded the hour wait. Other than that, I would recommend The Granite to anyone visiting Bancroft!
