Carl's Corner in Essig, located conveniently between Sleepy Eye and New Ulm, is known for serving up some of the best fried chicken in Minnesota. Their chicken dinner, complete with salad bar, potato, and toast, is a must-try for anyone passing through the area. Additionally, their $1 1919 Root Beer is a refreshing and affordable beverage choice to accompany your meal.

I live in the Los Angles area and travel to Sleepy Eye and New Ulm for business from time to time. I always make it a point to stop at Carl's Corner for their AMAZING fried chicken and an ice cold beer!
Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. Great food, nice people and a fun, friendly atmosphere.
It may bel located out in a corn field but this fried chicken stacks up against the best I have ever tried.

Our son's baseball team played in the VFW (Junior Legion) tournament in New Ulm last summer. Some of the games are played at the stadium in Essig, which is five minutes out of town. We stopped into Carl's Corner for food and drinks. I was able to buy my fellow baseball dads a round of Schells on tap for $11 and change. Plus the chicken dinners were the best we'd ever had. Carl's Corner is worth the trip to Essig if you're ever in the New Ulm area. Trust me!
