The food at this Chinese restaurant is pretty good, but the place could use a makeover and a thorough cleaning. It's a bit of a mystery why the dining options in Hillsboro seem a bit run-down, but at least the prices are reasonable here.

I love this place always have. They are quick kind and to the point.. Everytime 8 think Chinese I think Happy China... Been going here since they opened... Love love love it...

I disagree with Dawn. I thought the service was friendly and food was good. We've been coming here for years. Maybe someone had a bad day. Not sure who in this case.

The people that work here have got to be the rudest people I have ever come in contact with...I will drive the extra minutes to go to Lambs Garden in festus to get better food and great service. I'm surprised they are still in business.

Hillsboro is not known for its cuisine (choices are rather bleak). When Happy China opened its doors a couple of years ago, I was very surprised at the quality AND quantity of their dishes. Turns out they did a demographic study for the best place to put a Chinese restaurant and Hillsboro came up as the best location (surprise!). These guys come from Union, NJ and bring good recipes, fresh ingredients (veggies crisp, shrimp large, beef tender) and quick service. This is hands down 1 of the 2 best places to eat in Hillsboro (the other is the Mexican food joint).
