The atmosphere at Longboards was fantastic, and my experience was truly elevated by the bartender, Preston. After visiting a few other bars in the area, I was disappointed by the lackluster service, but Preston was a breath of fresh air. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great evening. I look forward to returning to Longboards in the future to enjoy the welcoming vibe and excellent service.

No, just no. Our first time visiting the OBX and first time at longboards. All we wanted to do was play pool and have a few drinks. The "manager" Chris, told us they didn't have any quarters, the change machine was out and that we should have brought our own and/or walk to the nearest gas station in the rain to get quarters. So since we took an Uber there that cost almost $40 from Manteo we decided to do the walk. Ordered our first round of drinks, started playing our first game of pool and then was approached by Chris, said "manager", which he wasn't btw, and he told us we needed to leave after we finished our game. We asked why and he gave no explanation except b/c he didn't want us there and that he didn't have to have a reason. We were there with my boyfriends sister and her guy, which both are locals"¦We kept asking why we had to leave b/c we at least wanted to know. We said we were locals and he then went into asking what we did for work and who we worked for as if he didn't believe us. We talked to another female waitress and she said that he wasn't the manager and that we needed to talk to another female worker, which we did and caught her off guard b/c she had no idea what was going on.
Long story short, we got thrown out for nothing more than asking for quarters to play pool. Bad business and a horrible first impression of a local restaurant at the OBX.
