This Mexican restaurant has been a favorite of mine for over 25 years. Every time I return to Omaha, it's the first place I visit. The lunch options are delicious, and the Margaritas are a must-try. The service is exceptional, with knowledgeable servers who make great recommendations.

Howard's Charro Cafe is an above average Mexican restaurant located in South Omaha. The menu is filled with all the traditionals, and with some with Howard's original spin. The food is pretty good for the price, although the prices have gone up in recent years. The abiance can come off as tacky, but the live mariachis on Friday and Saturday nights are a real treat. The only real down point is the service. Depending on who you get as a server you could walk out of Howard's having a great dining experience or a shoddy one. For best serving, dine duing the lunch hour and sit up front.
