I had lunch at a deli that was recommended to me by my hotel. The tuna fish sandwich I ordered was disappointing - it lacked flavor and was overpriced. However, the sandwich my boyfriend ordered with corned beef, roast beef, and bacon on rye was a hit. The deli surprised me with their homemade baked goods and delicious sandwiches, making it a great find in the area.

While on a road trip near me friend's place in Andes, NY, we stopped here for lunch. OMG! What a find! Never been to Margaretville before. This little place called Picnic had the nicest people behind the counter and patrons too. My friend and I both had the homemade chicken soup, which was spot on. Then I had the special of the day, enchiladas with rice and refried beans. Very authentic in taste and textures. My friend had a Ruben sandwich. After that, I had to have a coffee and some of their homemade cookies and turnovers. Oatmeal cookies and an apple and a raspberry turnover. Brought those home to Long Island for the family. Darn it. . . . . Now I have to see if they can mail me some more cookies to the island! LOL.
Very nice place I intend to frequent next time up in that area. Thanks guys, it was a special stop in Margaretville, New York. Very reasonable pricing also.
