Driving from the lower Hudson Valley to Wildwood, we got off to a late start. There were seven of us, between the GF, me, and our kids. We figured we would need to stop half way, before the "hangry craziness" started, so I did a quick search and found Joey D's.
I'm the only vegan in the group, so was stoked to find that they had so many vegan options to choose from. I was far from disappointed, as was the entire crew. I got the vegan cheesesteak with everything on it, and it was absolutely perfect! The rest of the brood devoured 2 large pies: a mix of cheese, broccoli, and sausage slices. My youngest, who NEVER EVER EVER eats her crusts, stuffed down 2 slices in their entirety (I usually get her crusts, so I was somewhat dismayed that I got nary a breadcrumb!),
We literally could not have found a better place to satiate all of us the way this place did. Everyone was stuffed and happy, as we headed out to reach our destination.
The Joey D's staff were incredible, also. They were super friendly, and above and beyond helpful. The fact that we were late-night last-minute diners didn't show in the slightest. It was an hour to closing on a Monday, but they were as much "on top of it" as I'd expect from the best of places during noon on a Saturday.
Major thumbs up to Joey D's! They get a permanent add to my contacts list, for any time we are in the neighborhood.
