Trotta's was a great steakhouse but they're no longer open in Dayton, KY.
Los Petros an EXCELLENT
mexican restaurant has moved in where Trotta's was. This is the place to eat at, LP is, by leaps n bounds, bar none, the best mexican food in the tri state area.

Please bare with me as I go full blown Karen for a moment. First, know I don't normally leave reviews, and I typically give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. I've never sent back a meal unless it was flat out not what I ordered. I've tried Trotta's once before, and wasn't particularly impressed, but it's in my neighborhood and a small business, so I really wanted to try to like it. I have been craving crab, and I wanted to do something different and nice. Low and behold, they have a seafood and crab special on Thursday nights. We ordered the crab cakes with apple & spinach salad for $32 and the king crab with garlic mashed potatoes for $65. Obviously, it's COVID quarantine time, so I ordered DoorDash. It seems crazy to order such a meal delivery, but I live literally half a mile from the restaurant, and I'm a Dash pass member, so it's free. I watched as it took all of 3 minutes for the driver to reach me from the restaurant. It's now clear that my order must have been intercepted and exchanged with a local shipment to Petsmart. This is dog food. The "crab" cakes contain absolutely no semblance of crab or even any meat or crab imposter. I received two cornmeal clay pigeons about 1/2 inch thick, a cold potato paper weight scooped into a perfect ball that was audibly pounding around the container it was served in, and a few scraggly pieces of crab absent of claw but plentiful in saltwater body meat. I just paid $107 for the butter I'll now use to fry a few eggs for dinner. At least I'll have the apples from the top of this wilted salad for a quality appetizer.
