There's nothing quite like enjoying delicious food and the company of good people. Surf's Up has been my go-to for years, with its fantastic cheesesteaks and pizza that always hit the spot. The staff is organized and respectful, making each visit a pleasant experience, and I can't wait to return.

Surf's Up used to have the best pizza in Bethany Beach. It was thick, but not too thick, with a really nice crust around the edges - thick and chewy. Two years ago they changed their recipe, although they deny it. Maybe they just decreased the amounts of ingredients in the dough so that the dough barely stretches to the edge of the pizza pan. Now the pizza is a thin crust with little crust at all around the edge. I used to get one slice for lunch and could barely finish it! Now one slice is not enough. I talked to the assistant manager and he claims it is the same pizza they made for the past 13 years. Not true.
(On another note, The women's restroom is absolutely filthy. I don't believe the toilet has been cleaned all summer.)
So, forget the pizza!
Go with the cheese steak sub. It is excellent.

We have spent summers in Bethany Beach for many years and have enjoyed Surfs Up subs each year. But this summer (2022) they have stopped answering their phone and I cannot find any way to place an order online. This means I have to drive into the town of Bethany Beach from our beach condo which is about a mile away, find a place to park, go in and make the order and then wait for it. What makes it even worse is that their prices have increased greatly . So disappointing.
