I went to Vo An Vietnamese Cuisine for the very first time today for lunch with a buddy from my charity org.
First of all, this place is EMACULATE. I have seen hospitals that are not as clean. Light and airy with a mildly Asian influence in the decor.
The server (from Vietnam) brought us beautiful menyus encased in plastic with full color pictures of every single item they carry. We started with the snails in lemon grass broth and they were to die for. Tender and flavorful. The bowl had 10 in their shells. We then selected entees. I had a traditional pork and shrimp salad with multiple fresh julienned veggies and sauce on the side. Simply delicious. A little exotic heat in the sauce but not too much. My friend had the Korean beef shortrib plate with sushi rice and a friend duck egg cooked to perfection. He also had an array of super-fresh veggies. I tried the short ribs and I have never had such moist succulent ribs cut so thinly. Absolutely perfect. My friend was so impressed he bought his wife the same meal I had to take home. We also both had an ice cold A&W Rootbeer.
Check time. The entire meal came to $65.00! That's it!
I have been a fan of Jasmine Thai for years, partly for their freshness as they grow many of their own herbs which really enhance the freshness. Vo An was even fresher. This is going to become my new fresh haunt for the best Vietnamese cuisine I have ever enjoyed!
