JB: it's quiet, that's nice. I like the quaintness... and the plants aren't dead: They're plastic.
Everyone complaining how "old and dirty" it is, all the Pepsi memorabilia? I'm 38, I've been going there since I was a child - probably before I was capable of cognitive dissonance. It's ALWAYS been this nostalgic place from the past. Even in the past. They used to have Pac Man machines in the corner too - and yep, they were as grimy as the place is today. But that's the charm of the place.
It's not dirty in a failed heath inspection sort of way. It's just not shiny and new like all the new places in Buffalo. The food is friggin' good, the owner has been there the entity of my existence and when I swing through town once every few years he still remembers and chats with me. It's HOME TOWN restaurant, not a cold glossy chain restaurant.
The food is awesome in a down home kind of 1970s feeling place. This is what makes Lackawanna John & Mary's unique and amazing.
So to those that want glossy commercial food - that tastes like cookie cutter restaurants? Go away, and let us real locals enjoy this good food. Or - come in, try the food, leave your arrogance at the door and eat this friggin' amazing food!

It's silent here and you can overhear every other conversation in the place. Also all the plants look dead. Haven't even had our food yet and we are scared
