Lunch 02/26/23 Coinjock Marina - made reservations twelve guests for 1:30 pm to avoid lunch rush. Food was finger licking. Service was so lousy I can't say it even reached high level of lousy. We usually tip 5.00 per guest. Twelve of us and I tipped protocol 20 percent. Thirty eight bucks. I remember when I asked the server said her name to be “Alisha”.

If I had the option of rating the restaurant with zero stars, I would. The single most unacceptable dining experience of my life, hands down.

My wife, four of our friends, and I went out for dinner at Coinjock Marina Restaurant on 4/8/22 and, first and foremost, our waitress's lack of experience (or disregard?) was a clear issue. Drinks sat empty without us being asked if we'd like refills; we had to ask. My friend's appetizer was brought out at some point, but was apparently placed on the empty table behind us, where it sat for almost 10 minutes. My friend patiently asked about the status of the appetizer and the waitress replied "Oh, here it is!", turned around, grabbed the appetizer off the table, and sat it down on our table (cold) - as if what just happened is/was perfectly acceptable. I had to ask more than once for simple things to be brought to the table that took far too long, etc...I could go on but won't.

These things aside, we were willing to allow the young lady to continue to serve us to gain some much needed experience.

Where our visit with Coinjock Marina Restaurant took an immediate nose dive, though, was when, in the middle of enjoying our drinks and having JUST had our dessert sat down in front of us, we had one of the hostesses approach our table at 6:52pm and rudely say "I'm not trying to rush you out of here or anything, but our 7:00pm reservation just arrived and we're going to need this table. Thanks." !!!!!!!???!! Like I said above, we JUST finished our dinner, ordered new drinks and JUST had our dessert brought out!

As if this isn't already mind blowing enough as is, three minutes later a second (different) hostess approached our table and said "Ummm, please don't think I'm rushing you but this table is reserved at 7:00pm, so we need to clear it up for the next group." !!!!?!!?

TWICE, in a matter of minutes we're essentially told "We need y'all to get the heck out of here", and why? Because some incompetent hostess overbooked the restaurant??! Not our problem, but in 40 years I have NEVER experienced such a rude, blatant disregard for good paying customers, period.

To the management: train your staff!!! They clearly overbooked your seating capacity, which is not your paying customer's issue nor should it be allowed to impact their dining experience. I STRONGLY urge you, in the future, to refrain from interrupting the already seated group at the expense of the group who just arrived or you can pretty much guarantee they won't return, especially when handled the way your staff handled us yesterday. If you have a table reserved, start the communication with your customers early (i.e. before seating them inform them "Just wanted to let everyone know that we have a reservation for this table at 7:00pm and while there is time for you to all be served, we will have to have it cleared by so and so time to accommodate both groups." It's still not ideal but at least they can prepare for the interruption and make an informed decision. Interrupting the group, after having just allowed them to spend roughly $50 more dollars on drinks and dessert and then pushing them to rush themselves eight minutes before the fact is not even remotely ok.

I will never return to this establishment and I will make sure to spread the word to all my friends. Completely unacceptable.
