I absolutely adore the fried chicken and sweet tea at this place - the prices are fair and the portions are generous. The down home country flavors really shine through, making it a clear favorite for me. Despite the current takeout-only situation, the food remains absolutely delectable with a wide variety of options like fried fish, collard greens, and sweet potato pie that bring back fond memories of dining here with my grandparents.

Last l was there waited 20 minutes fish sandwich was hot hot neither were the fries so disappoint

I just love this place while everyone else change.golden skillet has stayed the same and in thin case it's a very good thing.best chicken place in town

chicken is delicious but the pie (sweet potato) is superb, love just taking a relaxing drive from VA to NC to visit my Daddys hometown of Ahoskie and I won't leave until I visit GS its worth the trip!
