Where to start? Understaffed; 8 in line waiting to be seated; 2 servers and only 1 actually working (not skeleton who seemed overly emotional and rude when seating us); phone ringing incessantly with no one to answer.
Several dirty tables at 5:30; servers are apparently also host, cashier, bussers, phone order takers, take out preparers....why do companies shoot themselves in the foot like this???
Finally got seated and had a good server that was obviously running her butt off. She did a good job answering questions about menu items, brought drinks right out. Food was decent though steak was overcooked. She did not slap bill down when she delivered food like some here do and came back to refill drinks and clear plates. Was attentive to other tables as well. Made us feel like she cared and went above and beyond.
Looking down service line when paying our bill was a bad move on our part. Crap all over counters, watched short lady with bad bleach job wipe hands on apron while scooping ice cream, dirty floors, music loud from kitchen and a cook with a really loud laugh singing along with inappropriate lyrics.
Denny's: Do yourselves a favor and actually train and staff with people like our server. The cook obviously is more interested in music than work or steak wouldn't have come out well when ordered medium (you're paying them to do a job!), whoever the bleached hair lady is needs to be retrained in safe food service and the constant phone ringing and people picking up orders seems like you care more about take out than people in your store.
