Del's Lemonade, a frozen treat brand founded by Angelo DeLucia in 1948 in Cranston, Rhode Island, has its roots tracing back to Naples, Italy in 1840, where Angelo's grandfather crafted lemon "granitas" using preserved snow and fresh lemon juice. Del's now has over fifty franchises in 20 states, primarily in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, with Angelo's son Bruce DeLucia now at the helm of the company. The experience of enjoying a Del's frozen lemonade on a hot day while cycling along the Washington Secondary Bike Path is truly a quintessential Rhode Island pleasure.
