Very disappointing evening. Food was overpriced and overcooked - salmon like thick cardboard. Manager Leo Jackson did not address errors in our meal - which included (truly repulsive) cold marinated garlic cloves when the menu promised us candied walnuts and toasted prosciutto! What a shame, when there are so many great places to eat in Narragansett.

I simply do not understand some of these posts! I guess the few negative responses represent the very small amount of people who have left this fine establishment unsatisfied. Seriously, this place is always packed, has some of the best bartenders I have ever had the honor of knowing, and the food couldn't be more reasonable! Somebody complained about a short pour? That is INSANE. I have never, in all of my life, been to a place that consistently pours such heavy drinks. All I can say to anyone reading this, do not be steered away by people who take the time to come and negatively bash an establishment. Take it from somebody who is there a very solid amount, this place is an absolute gem. Enjoy!

I received a gift certificate to the Mariner Grill as a thank you from my students. An hour before we left for the restaurant, I called to confirm that I could use the gift certificate. I was told that you can “always use gift certificates”. Once we finished eating we were (not so politely) informed that we could not in fact use the gift certificate. When we said that we had called to verify that we could, the manager/owner laughed and told us that it didn’t matter. I was disappointed in the way the staff handled the situation. It seems customer relations are not important to the staff and owner of the Mariner Grill.

After 3 weeks of e-mailing this restaurant with our concerns still no response. Poor management skills. A favour of a reply would have been appreciated. I guess they have no time for their customers.

My husband and I are residents of South County and have been frequent visitors to the Mariner Grille. Last weekend 7/21 we had dinner there and was never so disappointed with the meal and the Manager of the grille as that night. My husband ordered the fisherman's platter fried which said there were Shrimp in the order (none to be seen) and upon questioning this they said that the menu did not state this (it does in both the indoor menu and the take out menu) my Prime Rib was not cooked to order and was sent back and returned 15 minutes later into my husband's meal which was very close to being finished. We spoke to the Manager who must of had a bad day because his attitude was not one of a Manager (he needs to go back to J&W for a review of what a Manager handles). All in all after a somewhat indication that we were trying to get a meal out of them we just said forget it.(By the way, a meal was not asked to be deducted). We will not return to this establishment again because of the poor service mainly by the Manager. Just a note: We have been patrons for quite a few years to the Mariner Grille.

This little place is great! ! I went for the Sunday brunch with some of my friends from Rhode Island. What a golden Nugget this place is....they have something for everyone....there are quiet spots in the restaurant as well as lively bar ! They also had a really cool loft style party room for get togethers! Try this place, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere and the attentive service!!!!

Went there on a Saturday night and the restaurant wasn't very busy. I watched the bussers wipe the dirty tables with the towels they keep in their back pockets - nothing more. My salt and pepper shakers were greasy, the filthy menus are placed on top of the bread plates and silverware. The servers and bussers are untrained, lazy or simply couldn't care less. It was hard to tell which was the case. The food and liquor prices were reasonable, though drinks had a very small pour, but I would have traded the bad service and the filthy conditions for better service, any time.

Went there on Narragansett's Restaurant Week, and ordered from their dinner special, although the food was good, not great, we waited almost 2 hour for our entrees to be served. On top of that they asked you to order your dessert when you placed your meal order. Ok, but when dessert came , they'd run out of the dessert. I guess the topper for me was when they charged us $15 a glass for a simple cabernat wine. When I expressed my disappointment to the owner on the way out his apology was so disinterested he might have just a well said, "don't let the door slam you on the way out". There won't be a next time for us at the Mariner Grill I'll be eating at Arturo Joe's next door!
