The staff and the food are wonderful. Great place if you like Mediterranean food.

We have frequented VERANDA Bistro since it opened over six years ago. One of the first Greek items introduced was the Gyro with thick spicy meat served in the traditional pita bread along with lettuce, fresh tomatoes, onions, and their homemade tzitiziki sauce . .. ask for a few fries to be included inside the pita sandwich for a taste that is often found only in Greece and a few big-city street-corner vendors in the United States.
Their menu has grown tremendously to include a variety of Italian and Greek foods along with their traditional American fair of sandwiches, subs (grinders), burgers, and pizzas.
They have recurring specials on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, respectively a very large (> 16", approaching 18+") pizza w/ choice of up to two toppings, a family-sized salad with choice of individual dressings, and four soft-drinks for only $19.99 - it's a steal of a deal! On Wednesdays they respectively have All-U-Can-Eat Spaghetti with choice of their Great Traditional Marinara Sauce (my favorite!!) along with meat sauce, and vodka sauce selections. And their meatballs are large and filling - love their taste.
They also have Chefs Specials on the Weekends, and occasionally kick it up a few levels with linen tablecloths, a special menu as they are having this Saturday with "GREEK Night" where they serve additional Special Authentic Greek foods not regularly found on their every day menu, including a couple of our favorites with the Flaming Cheese, Galaktombouriko , and along with lamb, the Chicken a'la Irene - a take-off from what was known as Chicken a'la Sylvia at the La Maison du Gourmet of yester-years.
In addition to being a well-hidden gem behind gas pumps, the scenery is gorgeous - overlooking a bubbling creek, mountains . . . tranquility on the edge of Roanoke's Main Drag (North Williamson Road).
The service is great, and they really make you feel welcomed & at home! We highly recommend VERANDA Bistro, definitely a five-star restaurant without the five-star glitter nor pricing!!!

The food was OK but it lack the zing that you expect from Greek food. The restaurant shares the parking lot with a gas station, so we had to park around back in a area that was not well lit. Unless someone was paying for my meal i would not return.
