The atmosphere is pretty dated, and I suspect the furniture hasn't changed in years. While it could definitely use some updates, the food is where it truly shines. For just $6.50, you get solid basics that outclass the fancier option in town, which doesn't deliver on flavor like this one does.

I do all the cooking at home and very seldom cook the same dish twice. I favor American test Kitchen cookbooks over the thousand I did own. I have eaten at Beking in Tomahawk, Hunan in Eagle River and Woodruff, Pho in Wausau and I can say that I have always enjoyed my food at Peking. I was stationed overseas and developed a love of Asian food. I have never been concerned with food safety as I am so I do not eat in any Asian buffets. Food under warming lights and food uncovered in walk in coolers I have a problem with.

This is one of my favorite places to go for food in Rhinelander. I think the food is exellent, the staff is very nice and helpful, and overall it is a very nice place.

Waitress was totally absent minded, took the order, brought the food, and she never stopped by , except to bring the bill at the end. The Kum Pao chicken was skin and fat not a single piece had any meat. It would have been better to order just vegetables. The spring roll was skimpy, the rice sticky and there was no tea offered like other Chinese restaurants. Portions were large but who wants greasy chicken skins?

Got take-out. Do not, I repeat do not ever go to this place. Food was tasteless and expensive. We ended up throwing 90% of it in the garbage. Chicken and broccoli looked bad, tasted worse. Sweet & sour pork, no sauce and way too much breading. Orange chicken, the only semi-edible thing we had. Stingy on rice. No fortune cookies included in take-out.
A Rhinelander person said this was the better of the two Chinese places in town. Can't even imagine the other!!!
Can't even rate Peking one star. Just rated it one star because site asked for a rating before publishing.
