The service at this restaurant is good, but the Chinese food leans more towards Western flavors rather than traditional. Despite concerns about the spiciness level, the Kung Pao beef with steamed rice was a tasty and satisfying choice. The cashew chicken, ordered spicy, was also very enjoyable. The staff was friendly, although one server could use more practice, and the overall dining experience was pleasant.

We don't want to believe that what we ate today from the Imperial Gourmet Chinese restaurant is a representation of what they normally offer. The items were bland, tough and overpriced!
The sweet and sour pork was soggy and it carried a distinct rancid oil flavor. Nothing excited our taste buds. We remember eating there years ago at the original location and it was consistently good.
Did we pick a bad day? Was the chef indifferent? If we decide to eat there again, we hope that it will be better. Bishop doesn't need another mediocre restaurant.

We live in Bishop and this is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the staff is always welcoming and courteous . They have a menu that will please the pickiest eater. They have wonderful veggie and vegan options. Even with Covid they offered a great takeout opportunity.

Good Chinese food in the middle of nowhere. That is how I can sum this up. Most Chinese places are a hit or miss, but most are misses. I was attracted by the decor and went in. Food and service were exceptional, almost like a high end fine dinning restaurant. The Hot and Sour soup may be the best I've ever had and the Sautee Shrimp was amazing, I thought for the price I paid it was a steal. You can't even get good shrimp dishes that cost $30 a plate.
