I LOVE this place! Cozy, friendly, inviting, spotlessly clean. Coffee and pastries in the morning are excellent. In summer, I sit outside and enjoy the weather. In winter, I sit by the fireplace with a book and wish for summer.

Cafe Choklad is a gem of a restaurant, painted with attractive and interesting colors, no wonder RISD students and faculty are frequent customers. I love the salads, both the Classic and the Shanghai, fresh, large, with smooth white chicken meat if desired and interesting textural additions like cranberries, almonds and mandarin oranges. It can get busy at lunch but the servers are very quick. The sandwiches are generous and the owner, Marie Retlev, is very particular about obtaining the best breads. Go there, it's wonderful.

I used to work here, not a good place to eat or work. every day there would be rat phisis in every nook and cranny. The owner Marie is rude and lies to customers telling them that bottles and cans are recycled when really they are thrown out with the rest of the garbege. the food is portioned as if it were the depression and the floors are rarely mopped. try it out and let me know if its just me; or does this restaraunt really sucks.
