Located on Albany Ave in Hartford's North End, I caution against visiting after dark. When seeking a break from the mundane offerings at my workplace cafeteria, I indulge in the $5 lunch special here. The generous portion of rice and beans, flavorful jerk pork, steamed cabbage, and complementary gravy never fail to satisfy, complemented by a side of fried plantains for the ride back to the office.
