The VC is the best place in the Village! First, it's locally owned and operated, so you know you're not dealing with "the man" and a giant corporation, which I like. The breakfast is great, they have gotten a warmer box, so now you can just grab and go burritos on powder days with no waiting. The beer is always cold and cheap, and the pizza is spectacular! If you're in Teton Village, you can't miss the Village Cafe!

I went in one morning to get a breakfast burrito, and asked if they could do it in time for me to catch my bus in 15 minutes. I was just making sure they new I had a (small) time constraint, but got a surly answer with raised eyebrow and sneer "you got 15 minutes." Anyway, they have a $10 minimum to pay by card so to get my total higher, I asked about beverages and they have a full bar. I ask for a Bloody Mary and the counter girl (who was talking to her friend more intently than me) told me I had to go down to the bar and order there, even though she could even just the order to the barmaid. So I go to the bar and order the Bloody. There had been some communication between the two girls so I assumed they were coordinating, but then the barmaid only rang up my drink. I asked where the burrito was, she brought me a foil-wrapped package and I paid and left. When I got down the sidewalk a bit, I started eating and noticed the burrito had some kind of terriyaki chicken rice filling -not a breakfast burrito. I wasn't going back though to correct it; I had to catch my bus and I wasn't going to give them another chance to screw things up. The burrito was good, so was the Bloody, and the decor and ambience are nice and laid back. Just don't go to the Village Cafe expecting to be served by someone who wouldn't rather be skiing or talking to their friends.
