My girlfriends and I used to love the Bistro before one of their serve staff showed us extremely horrible service, we had to keep chasing her down and bothering the hostess 'cause she ignored us and was rude! I charged my half of the tab of $27.28 and my girlfriend paid cash for her half, $13.64. She charged my credit card half the amount of the bill, $13.64 and I signed my end of the bill and put my receipt in my bag. We did not leave a tip, and wrote a note explaining why to her, on my signed credit slip. After we left, she saw we left no tip, with the explanation. The next day checking my bank account on line, found out she charged my card the full amount of the bill after we left and she pocketed the cash from the half of the bill paid by my girlfriend! I called the restaurant and spoke with two different managers... They called me back at the end of the day to let me know they would be returning the $13.64 over charge to my account, was not going to fire the server, even thou they had both told me they had problems with her and others in the past doing the same thing... My girlfriend and I felt that they should have comp-ted the entire meal instead of them telling us we could call ahead if one certain manager was there and he would give us a free meal for the same amount we had on the original bill. We have been going there ever since they opened, had large groups of women go there for dinner, before going next store to the Blue Martini, for the rest of the evening. All us girls lunched there every time we went to the mall, either with each other or with our families. You could go to Denny's or Chili's and they would compt your bill if anything was not up to quality standards, right? But a place like the Gallery Bistro, at the International Plaza is suppose to be more up scale and it turns out it's lower then a Howard Johnson's and treat their customer's just as so!!! We will NEVER go back there, they lost a huge customer base with all us ladies and our families! To allow and condone their wait staff to steal from their patrons and treat the customer with total disregard and rudeness, after bringing the matter to them was unprofessional, so was one of the manager's hanging up on my girlfriend when she called them because she was displeased with their resolve. The principle of the situation did not seem to bother the management of this establishment.... Very sad.
