I first came to Hemet in 1986 and had the most wonderful fried fish ever. mmmm so GOOD.

The fish itself (specifically, the Atlantic cod) is excellent. However, the prices are very, very high! (I've eaten there many times as I love fish and chips and went there as recently as approximately 10 days ago so I know this for sure!) The cost of one piece of fried codfish by itself (no fries) is close to $4.00. (Hemet is about 90 miles from Los Angeles.) There are several different "packs" which are increasingly expensive but in which the per-piece-of-fish price goes down slightly. Good selection of other fried seafood such as shrimp, clams and large scallops. Very good tartar sauce (a bit runny, but seems fresher that the pre-packaged kind from Long John Silver's.) The proprietor is, of all people, an essentially non-English-speaking, Chinese-speaking older man who practically yells when he speaks (not sure if it's a cultural thing or he's hard of hearing in addition to being very minimally conversant in English.) A good choice for fresh fish and chips and other seafood if you don't mind the high prices.
