If you appreciate classic subs that are crafted with care, flavorful, and truly satisfying, then Tony Baloney's is a must-visit. Celebrating 60 years in 2023, this family-run establishment has been a beloved part of Sacramento's culinary scene, offering everything from subs to spaghetti made from authentic Italian recipes. Every time I step inside, the nostalgic atmosphere and friendly service remind me why I've been enjoying their pepper steak and pastrami sandwiches for decades.

I've been going to Tony Baloney's since I was a teenager, the one on Del Paso Blvd & College Oak. That was 45 years ago at the oldest restaurant. I moved away & came back and I have to say if Tony Baloney's is still in business OMG I MUST FIND THEM. They have THE BEST SUBS & SALAFS TOO in the entire county & I wanted to say world but I haven't been around the world but have been out of the USA so trust me in my 62 yrs of life this place is so yummy & not expensive, go in your jeans or shorts the are totally family & besides all that the food is so good I'm drooling thinking about them. Macaroni & potato salad like mom made not all fancy yucky stuff in their salads green salad excellent & their subs I can't say enough good about the subs. Let me say this, their pickle relish alone deserves a gold metal. They have warm & cold subs. There's one with tender beef & bell peppers its like a hoagie OMG & you can add but who wants to. Its so freaken good but my fav is Italian cold cuts with that relish, its so hard to not get that. Meatball subs, etc. I just can't get past the Italian though I love the warm roast beef is it with the sweet bell peppers & onions sauteed & cheese on top or not if you don't want cheese, not spicy & kids love too. I think they have pizza? I don't know or care cause the subs are my go to food every time. And they treat you so well. Gary Zube & LaVerne Zube Gary's mom introduced me to the place all those years ago. Gary my beautiful husband 28+ years; we together used to eat there at least once a week. Sadly he passed away but they knew us when we came in. Wed always sit in the same booth if not crowded & they were crowded a lot during lunch & dinner time so go early or later. Mom also passed. But hey I'm still kicking & hope you're still open. There's not many of the good old restaurants left in Sac that don't costs & arm & a leg & have that kind of good food. But this is one of the best old ones who survived & you are full when you leave. Did I say their home made pickle relish is to die for? I love you guys & hope you survive this awful COVID. I think del Paso closed? but college oak may still exist? & its not their fault about the parking I think there's parking yes just not tons because of how the restaurant sits though we've never had a problem. I'd parachute in if I had to. Seriously. YOU GUYS ROCK MY WORLD WHEN IT COMES TO SUBS. GOD BLESS YOU... Tamara Zube, Gary's gal. Hope you stay open!!!!!!! forever!!!!!!
