We heard from friends that The Bridge was a cute coffee shop that had live music on Friday evenings, so we were excited to check it out. We gave it 3 tries this summer. Three tries and three strikes! Sadly, our drinks were not well made, definitely not coffee-shop quality. But it was the "music" that convinced us not to make the drive out to the Bridge ever again. The first time we visited, they were holding an event for children who we're planning to see the movie "frozen". Group after group of small children shrieked the lyrics to various "Frozen" songs for the entire time we were there. We tried again a few weeks later. The music was actually a recital of sorts in which students of, we were told, a local music camp performed for about 40 min. It was excruciating, these children were cute, but they could not sing. but we stayed, hoping there would be true coffee shop music eventually. Instead, after the children finally finished, their teacher actually critiqued them and asked for audience feedback! The third time we visited was open mike. This time the performers were almost all teens, and some were passably good. Whoever manages The Bridge needs to decide what they are -- a coffee shop with a coffee shop ambience, or a place for recitals and the like. If they want to attract any real customer base, they'll decide they're the former and book acts accordingly. What they offer now is disappointing at best.
