My husband and I, as well as another couple, had dinner last evening at the Mandarin. After FIFTY YEARS of living in Salt Lake
we finally made it. WHAT A GREAT RESTAURANT!!! We have had Chinese food, but this was far and beyond every other restaurant. The fried rice was excellent, cashew chicken excellent, honey walnut shrimp excellent, and a pea pod beef dish.......all wonderful. We were also very lucky to have the owner come by and chat with us. What a fine gentleman! The wait staff is also very professional and attentive. Another amazing thing is how clean the inside, and outside, is. We found out why and what a great idea method they have. After 40+ years of being in business, no wonder they don't have to take reservations for parties under 8!!!! The restaurant was packed and had a waiting line outside to get in. With food like that, we would be willing to stand in line again. A thanks to the lovely owner and staff. We are anxious to try other items on the menu. We will be back!!!
