The people who complain about Zinn have most likely never lived outside Utah. They get offended easily and want chit chat.
I've been to Zinn over a dozen times in 5 years, and at times they are a little "short" with people and not interested in friendly small talk. I love it, the food is always incredible and the atmosphere is wonderful. I could really care less about chatting with a server...serve me food and leave me alone. Just the way dining should be.

The service here is poor. I think they are all the owners snotty kids. When a group of us went there for a business lunch we were embarrassed. Whet the bill arrived my co worker who was paying did not leave a tip but added TIP Try Smiling! We were in the parking lot saying good bye and apologizing when the waitress who we left the tip for came running out. she screamed at us that we were never allowed to come back! That was classic and we all laughed our heads off! My advice go to a place where people are nice.

Went there last night to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. We never saw the waiter after the food was delivered except to bring us the check. We were out of water (never offered any other drinks) all night and had to ask for some when the check was brought and yet an 18% gratuity was automatically figured into our bill. When ordering, we asked the waiter what he recommended, and he couldn't give a single recommendation--like he'd never eaten the food there. Then we were charged a $20 "cakeage fee" that wasn't disclosed to us beforehand because we brought in a specially designed anniversary cake, which we served ourselves. Save your $$$$ and go somewhere else!!!
