It's like walking back in time. The staff wear jeans and plaid and are friendly as the sweetest grandma. The food is great and fresh and homemade. One of my favorite sides is the Pinquito beans. So creamy, so flavorful, with just a hint of heat that this wimp can't get enough of. The salad is not out of a bag and the dressings and gravy are homemade. The hamburger patties are homemade. There is always good music playing in the background from when I was a kid, and I smile the whole time I'm there. It's like the Disneyland of restaurants. The happiest place in Earth.

My first choice in Santa Maria, always. Always tasty food, LARGE portions, service friendly. Large variety of meals available. Beer, wine available. What did I miss?

Stopped to have breakfast two Sunday's ago.
We loved the food, coffee.
The staff were friendly, courteous.
Loved the photos on the walls of old rodeo participants and ranchers.
Will visit this lovely bit of nostalgia California diner the next time we are visiting S California.

We love Pappys , we miss Pamela she was always organized and took detail in making sure drinks we're filled at all times and everyone was taking care of :) we miss the old Pappys when they host would walk around with refills just isn't the same! Not sure what happened every face looks like a new one but hopefully they all get trained more because we are so used to seeing same servers on a regular schedule that know our orders and our drinks and are always efficient and so friendly !

Have always loved Pappy's they're huevos Ranchero are our favorite but the rest of the food is also very good. I came in to visit my sisters in Santa Maria and asked if poppy was still there we used to do the one in Pismo but they have shut it down many years ago ,So had my sister take me there for breakfast my last day.

Pappy's is a great family restraint. The tri tip sandwiches are incredible and all the breakfasts are good. It has been open since 1970 and the whole ambiance is down home goodness. The service is very impressive

This is one of those places you just happen to find when working out of town! There Food is completely Off The Hook Good! I have to stop every time I'm working near there! The service is hands down Awesome an the Place is Super Clean! Please Don't take my word for it ! Stop in and Try it out! Wow!!!! I'll be back next week and can't wait! Well done guys! From the server to the Cook! Awesome!!

HAHAHA the attire recommendation says "smart casual". IT'S A TRUCK STOP, NOT A FINE RESTAURANT. You're lucky if the people eating there are wearing a clean wife beater or have even bathed in the last week!!!
Place needs a good cleaning, it's a truck stop greasy spoon or a dive. When I just run in to pick up a to-go order, I can smell the grease stuck to my clothes all day. HOWEVER the food is pretty darn good and the ladies are nice. If you're on your way thru, stop in. Don't worry if you're not dressed "smart casual" LOL
