Your place Thai is good. Almost very good. You'll have to leave santa Barbara to find better.

If you visit Santa Barbara, goto Milpas Street. There are wonderful restaurants there. Your Place is one of my favorites.

Delicious. Try the Phad Woonsen (I had the chicken version) or if you like a little kick, the spicy vegetables by themselves or with whatever meat you like. I also enjoy the Princess Favorite Chicken. I haven't tried anything with pork, beef, or seafood, but everything I've had as of yet is fresh and tasty so i'm looking forward to trying those. Oh, the soups are delicious too.
NOTE: this menu is badly out of date. There are many more options available than the one featured at this site.

A nice cozy and well decorated Thai place.
02/12/2011 - LOVED this for my 7th Anniversary!
I has been a while since I had been there last, but I have always loved it there. So, when reading some bad reviews just before going there tonight for my 7th Anniversary I was a little hesitant. "Great food, lousy service..."
I'm so glad I chose to go anyway.
The place was packed, as would be expected for someplace that is consistently good. And, as feared by reading these reviews, there was in fact a "surprise" party of 6 that arrived just when we had.
Overall, we may have waited 5 minutes for a table. Once seated, our order was taken in no time, and they were very quick with everything from the tea/water, to the appetizers (Lemongrass Shrimp & Coconut Soup & Chicken Satay), to the main course (Oyster Beef & Road Duckling). The service was excellent, and the servings were both generous AND delicious!

With the widespread proliferation of Thai cuisine in this town, you might think that Your Place occasionally would be bumped from first place in THE INDEPENDENT'S readers’ poll. Never yet, however. This cozy little lower Milpas Street eatery was the first Thai restaurant to open in town more than two decades ago and it has been the undisputed Best Of champion ever since. Casually fine with a hopping, lively atmosphere, Your Place has become as familiar to the town as its name implies.

Santa Barbara has so little in the way of good Thai food that it's not even funny. Thank Buddha for Your Place Thai, if it wasn't for this place I might have had to move to LA just to get my Thai fix.
The food tastes excellent, the employees bring the food out with urgency. And most importantly (for me anyways, as I usually get takeout) the menu is priced just right considering the portions.

Best Thai food in town. The service is outstanding. They are friendly and relaxed. Don't miss it.

Best Thai Food in Santa Barbara. Truly Authentic. They haven't won the "Best Of" award for 25 years in a row for nothing!

DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I'm not a complainer. I've gone to many restaurants and this experience by far has left the worst taste in my mouth. Yes, the food was pretty good. But, when I told the manager that I wanted to exchange my plum wine because it wasn't chilled. She made a huge scene and said that they couldn't do anything about it, walked around the restaurant complaining loudly about me in Thai. Then another server came over and was waving her arms in the air saying "the bottle was in the fridge, we can't do anything" It was a very humiliating experience.
