My great Aunt Ida spent years working at the Gold Spike, a place I vividly recall visiting in the 70's - its eerie ambiance left a lasting impression on me. Despite its closure a decade ago, the Gold Spike remains a cherished memory, as it was where I took my wife for our first date almost 40 years ago, enjoying a simple yet satisfying meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
