The food at Southfield Grill is delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. Even though the exterior may not be the most appealing, the country-style cooking and generous portions make it a worthwhile dining experience.

Great meals in the past, but terrible now. Ordered Fried chicken breast and it was so tuff I couldn't even eat it, had to throw it away. Also had cabbage and it had no taste to it whatsoever, it tasted like card board. Don't know who the cook or cooks are but they need to take Cooking 101 at LSU!

It's getting worse and worse. Used to be one of our go to spots. It's also despicable that there's no "contact us" page or link on their website to contact them, as if they already know they got problems and they don't wanna hear about it. And the bad thing is, they're the only 'diner food' restaurant in south shreveport, so they could really be great if they just knew what kind of monopoly they have on that market. We went there last night, about 6:30, for the nightly 'specials', and the waitress proceeded to tell us they were out of 90% of the 'daily special' food (look up their website and you'll see what I mean by 'daily specials'. She also proceeds to tell us this is a normal occurrence; they usually run out of the 'specials' food about 6:30 or 7pm every night. If it's a normal event ...... why! That's all I needed to hear. We just left and went somewhere else.

Good food...good service most of the time...although i have called and bern placed on hold several times for too long of a time frame...more than 4 minutes

Great plate lunches or meat and threes or whatever you want to call them available from lunch-closing. Quick service, friendly staff. Banana pudding is wonderful! Hot water cornbread is available after 5:00 PM and is worth waiting for if it is not quite ready. The servings are large so sometimes we split or one of us orders a plate lunch and the other only a vegetable plate so we can split the entree. Good chicken and dressing on Saturdays.
