08/11/2017 - Debbie Bennett
My husband & I ate dinner at your Outback Steakhouse last night on 8-10-17 & Erin waited on us.
We always order the Blooming Onion as an appetizer while waiting on our meal. As we were eating the Blooming Onion; we come to realize that our Onion was fried with the outside skin of the Onion still on it. Of course it was impossible for the tough onion skin to be chewed to be swallowed ! And, just the thought of the tough onion skin being offered to us as an appetizer was a very nasty & unappetizing experience ! We have never experienced this before in your restaurant & are utterly disappointed in the thought of our experience, having to pull the Onion skin out of our mouths for fear of ingesting something that could not be chewed ! The outside skin of an onion is not meant to be eaten at all ! That's why everyone peels an onion & washes it before injesting, cooking it, etc. ! This experience was an eye opener, to how unsanitary you are in preparing & cooking food that is served to customers !
My husband & I are very disappointed because of your "unsanitary & dangerous" Blooming Onion that anyone could easily be choked on !
We have always enjoyed eating here for many years, but will never forget our nasty experience last night, that will cause us to re-think dining at your steakhouse again.
We put the peels that we had to spit out on our saucers for our waitress to see. But she was very busy with other customers, & we knew she had nothing to do with the preparation or cooking of it. So, we didn't tell her about what we found in our Blooming Onion, but decided to report it by review on your website.
