Whenever I visit McBee, I always make sure to stop by D and S Subs in VA, where I enjoy their delicious sandwiches that have been a staple for over 35 years, offering a satisfying meal despite the slightly higher prices.

D&S has always been the place to stop when visiting home, absolutely could not leave without my turkey sub fix all the way. This weekend 9/23/12 my sis and I was so disappointed. The sub was dry, the lettuce and onions not shredded as usual just was not good at all. I remember when the doors open to D&S Sub I just hope the bad taste and not caring closes the doors. Please go back to putting the love in prepping your items.

I agree with CarolinaGuy, the employees are incredibly rude! There is even a sign right there at the counter that says something like "I can only please one person per day and today doesn't look like your day!!" How's that for customer service!

The other 2 reviewers must be the owners of D&S. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are good, but D&S has got to have the most awful customer service of ANY business I've ever been exposed to. When you call an order in, 90% of the time, the person answers the phone with "Can you Hold?" and before you have a chance to answer, they've slammed the phone down on the counter. If they return (no, really, sometimes they don't) it's usually after 2-3 solid minutes of waiting. They are very rude on the phone, don't give order totals, and never EVER say thank you.
When you arrive to pick up your order (or, if you are eating in the place) you are usually faced with a significant line of waiting people. There is one line, one cash register, and one person working behind the counter. Not only is that person taking orders, but they are fixing drinks for people that are eating in the restaurant. I have waited in line for 30 minutes before, just to pick-up a CALL-IN order. As on the phone, the people are extremely rude.
Again, the food is good....which is the ONLY reason I visit on occasion, but the owners/workers at D&S really need an improved focus on customer service, and a major attitude adjustment.

I love this place. The best subs in the world. The employee's are friendly and was very helpful on my first visit. been going back every since, that was 10 years ago. will not eat a sub anywhere else.

THE D&S SUB SHOP IS THE BEST PLACE IN HARTSVILLE IS TO EAT.I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY ANYONE WOULD EAT AT SUBWAY WHEN YOU CAN HAVE A D&S SUB.EVERYONE WAS VERY NICE AND POLITE.ITS A VERY CLEAN PLACE.YOU SHOULD TRY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT AND WANT TO GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN.
