Proud to have shared a 12 year ownership history of this icon restaurant in SD: From Louie and Margaritte Russel, through the Schultz/Johnson era, ours and onto the Fredricksons. We enjoyed the monumental occasions, the many proposals, birthday, anniversary and special occasion dinners and national and international travelers off I-90 and especially the loyal locals. Hold fast the memories of your dining at Chef Louies.

Chef Louie's was highly recommended by a friend so on our way to the Black Hills we stopped for supper on a Thursday evening. The atmosphere was lovely, like a trip back in time...only the music didn't match the atmosphere...half expected to hear Sinatra, Dean Martin, or Tony Bennett. Our server was attentive, the salad and dinner rolls were fresh, but my husband's G&T was all ice, our steaks were tough...he had a NY strip and I had a ribeye (both medium as requested), the baked potatoes were tiny and definitely reheated from the day before, they had that bitter taste, and it was expensive. We don't mind paying for a good meal but this was incredibly disappointing. I emailed Chef Louie's but they never responded, so I felt inclined to share our experience. We kick ourselves for not stopping at Jimmy Johns and saved ourselves a chunk of change.

had carry out slighlty blackened ribeye with augratin potatoes, potatoes bland and steak very thin and way over cooked cost 31.00 without tip
