The lakeside community of Hillside Resort in South Dakota is a beautiful and serene spot reminiscent of a hidden treasure. Nestled off a rural highway, the resort offers a picturesque setting with friendly service and delicious food, making it a perfect getaway for a relaxing meal by the water.

We were there for supper with family and the menu had changed from just a month prior. It advertises as a steakhouse and the menu was bare bones"¦..no steak dinners"¦mostly items you can thaw and microwave to serve

Was there on August 6 2016. We never received our food after waiting for over 2 hours, we finally cancelled the order. Yes they were busy but then they should staff accordingly. Second time we have been there and the service was non existent, even went to the bar to get our own drinks because the waiter was overwhelmed and didn't take care of us. Not sure if we will head there again

Did Hillside Resort change ownership?. My husband and I used to drive up often in the summer as we loved the salad bar. We drive 60 miles one way. Tonight we were disappointed that there was no salad bar. We didn't care for the food at all no taste to the Hamburger Steak. The Hashbrowns were very greasy. We will not return as we loved the salad bar. Too bad you had a good thing going!

This is our favorite place to go, the restaurant is always very clean, and staff is always smiling, friendly and always prepared. The food is amazing and nice portion sizes. They always seem to go out of their way to make our visit comfortable and relaxing....
