1st of all to be fair, I am from Chicago, my wife from NYC, so we are spoiled having eaten world class cuisine most of our lives. GOOD Chinese food is hard enough to find in NYC and Chicago, and China town in either city is where NOT to find it. Also ANY Chinese restaurant followed by the word BUFFET, should be expected to be absolutely awful. Fortunately I didn't pay to go here, it was my dad's treat. I was skeptical, and pleaded " OK DAD, just please tell me it's NOT a China buffet!!!" It wasn't it was Peking buffet! The only thing we found good and authentic was the home made hot mustard sauce, which I used to mask the taste of the pitiful egg rolls. All roll, little filler, no meat. The thing that ALL bad Chinese restaurants have in common is one sauce fits all. You order beef & broccoli in garlic sauce, it's the same sauce as shrimp in lobster sauce, they change the meat, pile on the raw, or undercooked Chinese vegetables, and call it a masterpiece! And I suppose it is to the proprietor running the establishment having passed this dog food off to the local tourists as genuine Chinese fare. Ever notice NO Asians eat there? How I miss Chicago's Sun Lok, Hong Minn! But, NO good Chinese, or Pizza still beats living in the late great degenerate state of Illinois, because here the natives are GREAT folks to call neighbors!
