Traveling along Interstate 65, I found a great roadside stop that offers hearty Southern meals and a glimpse into Tennessee culture. Despite some modernization, the traditional breakfast items are still impressive, and I look forward to returning for another satisfying meal.

Located along Interstate 65, Stan's provides a convenient stop for travelers heading to Nashville or the Gulf Coast. Originally a humble roadside eatery, Stan's has evolved to compete with popular chains like Waffle House and Cracker Barrel at the same exit. Despite some changes, Stan's still offers traditional Southern meals and a glimpse into Tennessee culture. Their breakfast menu is a highlight, featuring classic dishes like country ham sandwiches on sourdough bread. Prices may have increased over the years, but Stan's continues to serve up hearty, home-cooked meals with a touch of Southern hospitality.

We use to come here to eat years ago and we ALWAYS loved the food and service. We stopped in today 1-18-23 and the food was terrible!! Unfortunately, the service was terrible too. The waitress never came back to check on us. There were only three tables occupied (us included). We had to flag down the waitress after about 15 minutes of us sitting there waiting just to ask for the check. The food was still on the plates, uneaten. So we paid for food we never ate and tipped for service we didn't receive. We sure miss the original Stan's homemade food from years ago!

My 6 friends have stopped in Stans for 23 years on the way to Gulf shores. FOR breakfast or lunch. Going fishing. ALL country men. Average age 60. . We've never ever had bad service or a bad meal!!.Its our main stop for a 640mile trip from Bardstown Ky. We love it.
