Looking for a beach spot with some tasty bites and a view to match? Check out Port A Beachlodge at Access #9 - it may not be the fanciest joint, but the breakfast is worth the stroll through the sand. The burgers, pizza, and boiled shrimp hit the spot, and the beachside seating options make it a cool hangout for a chill time by the ocean.

Worst slimy, frozen catfish Fish basket in Texas! First let me say I love the atmosphere at Beach Lodge; the view, the old school beach bar vibe and the staff are off the charts great! This place is an institution of the way beach bars used to be....real funky...a good, relaxing place to drink beer and watch the waves.
I've been a semi-regular since about 1975! I have usually ordered a fish basket and up until about a year ago, the fish was always tasty, fresh and cooked to perfection. About a year ago, I came in and ordered a fish basket and it was terrible. So, like a glutton for punishment, I've kept going back and have ordered it again and again thinking it was just a fluke. We'll finally I complained, and the waitress whispered that it was a fish called Swai, which I learned is mass produced on factory fish farms in Vietnam and frozen and shipped in containers to the U.S. Swai is a dirty, greasy, creepy textured, tasteless catfish species that has little nutritional value, but is cheap. Shame on Beach Lodge for serving a $15.00 small fish basket with a stinky, frozen Vietnamese catfish, never again! I'll be back, but beware their seafood, stick with the hamburger!

Can't beat their cheeseburger & onion rings - Right on the beach!! A cold one on a lazing afternoon watching the surf.... Can't beat it!! Oh yeah, all u can eat shrimp is simply amazing!!!
