I went there last week to eat a dozen raw oysters, fried shrimp and gumbo. I got vibrio infection and still recovering. I do not recommend going to eat raw oysters there. Stay away or you will get sick!

The food is good but the parking lot so small is the reason I don't like to go eat there

I loved the oysters 🦪 on the half shell. Only one time they were warm and not good.

I want to share with all you customers at Captain Tom's Seafood & Oyster in Katy (Katy Freeway), that although it was one of my favorite places to eat fresh seafood, I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN, AND AFTER YOU READ WHAT I'M ABOUT TO ADD, THINK TWICE ABOUT GOING!
Reason: The manager and management do not care for the safety of their customers, nor their own employees. There's a racket going on where peoples vehicles are broken into in their parking lot on a daily basis as patrons are eating. Their own employees' vehicles get broken into frequently and they refuse to provide security. It was 9:30pm (pitch dark in the parking lot) and our pick up truck's rear passenger window was broken (glass shattered into a million pieces) to steal something insignificant in the truck. When we went to report it to the manager, he totally dismissed us. Ten minutes later the lights in the parking lot were turned on (9:45 pm). At the same time, the theives in their haste to drive out, reversed into another car and completely pulled off the bumper of the car that was parked next to them. This car belonged to one of their cooks. When she came out, she proceeding to tell us that this happens on a daily basis and management doesn't do anything. When the police finally came, the Deputy also proceeded to tell us that this happens regularly at this location, and that she already knew who it may be. I don't know if they're in cahoots, but the way they handle things it looks suspicious. The police are on to them tho. I hope they can get enough evidence to shut them down. There's was a look out person in the restaurant. She came out as we were taking our time leaving, then we heard the car take off and crash into the car parked beside it. Perhaps we spooked them, but we noticed the lady a bit suspicious because she sat near my husband and I and only ordered a coke. Never ordered food, and then got up and left as we were finishing up. If this happens so regularly, why is management providing some type of security for the patrons and employees?

Been coming here for a couple years now and it's always been good but in the last few months it has really gone down hill the shrimp is over cooked the fish has very little seasoning it's just been steadily going downhill. Which is sad we used to come here often. The food is what we use to come here for even though the place hasn't been remodeled in decades. You just looked pass that before but now the food is now gross. There are MUCH better places for me to spend my money.

I had fried shrimp, stuffed crab, stuffed jalapenos and a cup of gumbo. Everything was awesome! I would have to say my favorites was the gumbo and stuffed jalapenos. Also had a Michelada with Modelo...wow!
