Despite some initial reservations prompted by unfavorable reviews, my group and I decided to give Tubac Jack's a chance. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious meals we enjoyed - my green chili pork burrito was bursting with flavor, and my sister raved about the chili verde stew. The generous portions left us with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The service was exceptional, with our waitress mentioning a recent change in chefs that seemed to have made a positive impact on the overall experience.

Visited on 12-28 and th service was unbelievably horrible. A party of 4 ordering 3 hamburgers and salad & onion rings.You would think pretty standard for a restaurant of this type. There were only 2 tables occupied when we entered the restaurant at around 2:00. Our waitress was very responsive in taking ur orders and bringing water and an ordered coke to our table. The rest of iur visit was a disaster. After waiting 20 minutes we saw a sald and onion rings put under the hot light. 10 minutes later after the restaurant began filling up, we asked about our order. They then brought the salad and onion rings tht had been sitting there (we were sitting next to the hot light and grill) over toour table along with the hamburger ordered. The person who had ordered the salad mentioned to the waitress she had seen the order sitting there for quite some tie and questioned whether it would be ok and the waitress said yes and if it wasn't she could order another one. The person who ordered a hamburger, told the waitress it wasn't the one listed on the order that she ordered and the waitress said she knew and if she didn't want it she would bring another. We then waited another 10-15 minutes for the remaining people in our party to get their food. During that time they brought the correct ordered hamburger to the person who got the wrong order. When the remaining food had been delivered a full 40 minutes after ordering, we realized the hamburger that was supposed to be rare had no pink at all inside. When the recipient of the well done hamburger brought this to the waitresses she did apologize for the mistake and offered to bring a new one the diner did not want to wait any longer for a rare hamburger and declined. The ther thing the restaurant needs to work on is the grill. It was obvious to us there were problems and the waitresses kept coming back because what they thought was their order wasn't and they would bring the fod back to sit under the hot light. We didn't stick around to see where that food ended up but there was a t of confusion among the waitresses and the one employee handling the grill. I am hoping some of what we experienced was due to a manager not being on site as we thought a manager would come to our table and offer some sort of compensation for the issues we experienced or at least an apology but that didn't happen. If I lived in the area, I might giv the restaurant one more try because I think they might have good food if they coud get their service issues corrected but as visitors to the area we will not be back. If you go, make sure you have a lot of time for your meal.
