Dinner with friends featured a spicy chile relleno and enjoyable tortillas, while the overall meal was decent, though the ambiance was lacking, leading to a mixed experience that prompted a return to Leo's, where the nostalgic atmosphere, friendly service, and generous portions of authentic Mexican food reminded me why it remains a cherished spot despite occasional inconsistencies.

I had dinner with friends at Leo's tonight and ordered the Combination Plate #9, which came with a chile relleno, carne seca, tortillas, rice, and beans. The chile relleno had a spicier kick than usual, while the tortillas were tasty and the salsa was enjoyable. The overall meal was good, with unexceptional rice, beans, and carne seca, and the service was satisfactory. The ambiance was simple, resembling a hole-in-the-wall restaurant next to a strip club.

Love their mac ha a (dried shredded beef). Wish they had outdoor seating! No real atmosphere but the best East side machaca!

We ordered a beer and had to ask for a glass. The menu said red chili or green chili is available. We were told there's no green chili anymore. My burrito plate said in the menu it came with rice and beans. When our server brought our food out, I only had beans. I asked about the rice. She told me the menu was wrong. So I told her that she should have asked which I preferred as I preferred rice to beans. She did bring some rice. Then we had to ask for more chips and salsa. We didn't eat all of the chips. Our server informed us she knew we wouldn't eat the second helping of chips. She was one of the rudest servers we've ever had. The food was ok but not exceptional. We don't recommend this restaurant and we won't be back.

The food is "down home" Mexican SABROSA! The staff is flexible when there are menu adjustments requested, flexible when last minute
large groups arrive,and the atmosphere is warm, family friendly, and amenable to making separate
checks.
