My family and I celebrated my Father In Law's birthday at Chowhouse at his request, and we had a wonderful time there. Despite some initial hesitation about the fried pickles being too salty, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavor and unique cornmeal batter. The Great Cazbah sandwich I ordered was tasty, although the portion size was a bit smaller compared to other dishes. The service was attentive, and the cozy atmosphere added to our enjoyable dining experience.

I love Caz's building. I usually like the food. However, the service is the worst in Tulsa. It does not seem to matter what day, what time, or how many are in your party - you are going to get slow, inaccurate, and unapologetic service.
Last night I went to Caz's Chowhouse with a group. The management knew of our arrival a month in advance and we agreed to a limited menu to "ensure quality service and food availability". Here's a short list of our experiences:
1) The first plates of food arrived 1 hour after order placement.
2) The last person was served 2 hours after she placed her order - and she was so busy apologizing to members of our party for the problems that she didn't have time to eat
3) One individual in our party never received her order (a burger) even after we asked the server about it 4 times
4) chicken on the cobb salads was spoiled
5) only about 10% of our party was served hot food...the rest was cold - not lukewarm - cold
6) if you wanted a drink refill you had to serve yourself
7) the wait staff barely spoke let alone tell us they were sorry or ask management to speak to us (I looked for a manager...asked around...never found one)
We try so hard to support our local restaurants rather than the chains. Needless to say, we will not be back to Caz's...and that makes me sad.
