It was awful! I will never return! $23 walleye, ordered successfully a month ago, was awful on September 23, 2024. It was very fishy tasting, which is not the norm for walleye. Especially when we had had it in excellent form a month before. Even before mentioning it to our waitress, the waitress was extremely grumpy, and became outright angry after we mentioned it. When asking to talk with a manager about it, the manager came and said, "fish is supposed to taste fishy", very sarcastically. And "what do you want me to do about it"? Two of us ordered it and had the same substandard walleye. Mine had at least 15 bones in it also. When looking at other reviews in the last five months or so, I would warn people that something is going wrong and downhill at this once very nice restaurant. Not only are we never returning, we also are going to give bad PR to lots of people who we know frequent it.

The turkey dinner is so good that I don't try other things! It's exceptional food and service. The owners are awesome and I take my hat off to Carol. It's delicious home cooked meals, but also "modern" cuisine. The chicken haystack salad is to die for! It's the bed salad ever! I also love the gift shop as it has high quality products! Love them!

Today was the worst food that I've ever had. Left sick on my stomach. The person that was with me had to send their food back.
Won't be going back after going since 2016.

In the past bought a shoe banana cream pie. The best ever. At Noon today 8/15 took out two pieces of banana cream pie. How can fresh pie have rotten bananas, doughy crust & no flavor at Noon!

My husband had the Banana Cream pie at a recent visit and that is what he requested for his birthday...he said "Forget a birthday cake I want a piece of Carol's pie instead!" Everything we ate was so good, we will definately return.
