The restaurant has had its ups and downs, but recently reopened with a limited schedule. Despite mixed reviews, the duck dish was outstanding, service was excellent, and the setting was lovely.

Wow!
What an amazing location, a restaurant that invented Farm to Table, the oldest winery in the state of Virginia.
Food is worth the 2 hour wait (if no reservations) fresh, clean, inventive.
The wine is great, the timber Frame winery is beautiful and all salvaged wood. Whole place is paradise, you should see the flowers and the grounds!!!

We have been there twice within the past 2 months. The food was good. We had ordered tea with the meal. We asked for coffee with the dessert and was charged $2.50 per cup. The coffee should have been free since we had already payed for tea. Also the gift shop is nice, but no employee greeted us nor explained what is offered such as the wine tasting and tours. We were disappointed when the internet menu was different from the menu at the restaurant.
